Model

This image shows what all the walls would look like if they were placed side by side or if they were peeled.

This is a view of the window that is placed next to the apple peeling table showing how it enters light into the building.

In this view we can see the outside space that I created. The platforms are raised above ground level so that the lady can reach up and grab the apples from the tree. Though I wish I could have incorporated this space such that it became a part of the interior and the peel of the building.

Drawings

Plan - I added rendering of shadows into the drawing because I found that the plan alone didn't provide enough excitement about the design and the shadows also give a slight hint of the height of this structure.

Poche Section - The section shows the massing of the building as well as solids and voids. I later produced this section into a single point perspective drawing because I wanted to show the interior space where the lady would peel her apples in the morning when light is abundent on the wall above her table. After all this assignment was about experimenting with light and space and this was my way of representing this idea through my drawing.

Axonometric - I found that drawing the axo showing more of the outside than the inside effectively communicates the "wrapping" around of the apple peel design.

Assignment 2 - ARCHITECTRONICS

Painting

A Woman Peeling Apples - Pieter de Hooch

NARRATIVE

"An Edifice for a short lady who loves making apple pie".

These are just some intitial drawings I did of my final design. On the top left is the plan showing the "peel-like" shape the building possesses. The elevations and sections show the height and mass of the building. As you work your way in from the entrance, the walls become higher and higher till its at its "core".

Final Model

The placement of the section cut was made through Utzon's studio and the entrance as this position showed the villa working its way downt he hill. The images below show both left and right sides of the cut.
